What a digital twin tells a farmer

What a digital twin tells a farmer

A maize field in flowering stage, a week without rain, and one clear recommendation.

A maize field in flowering stage, a week without rain. The sensor does not know what a farmer knows. It only reports that the soil is drying faster than the weather alone would explain.

The digital twin puts that reading next to the season plan, the irrigation schedule and the last rainfall. It does not simply flag a low number. It explains the gap, then projects what the next seven days will do to the plot.

The recommendation is deliberately small: irrigate this plot first, not the whole farm. A small, precise action is easier to trust than a dashboard full of alarms.

That is the point of a twin. It does not replace the farmer's judgement. It gives that judgement a clearer picture of what is happening, and more time to act.
